Blue Ridge Partnership for Children
By Ruthie Styles
Spring is rapidly approaching and with spring comes the 17th annual Child Fest event sponsored by the Blue Ridge Partnership for Children and Child Care Resources and Referral. This year’s event promises to be a great day with activities like rides on the Little Blue Choo, a Teddy Bear Clinic, make & take crafts, inflatables and Mr. Mystery will once again bring his mysterious magic show to Child Fest. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day and while the kiddos are enjoying all the activities, their parents and caregivers will have access to information about quality child care, early literacy, health and nutrition and services that are available in the area. When asked about Child Fest, Jessica Hoyle, Waylon’s mom, said she enjoys Child Fest so much because it “offers an opportunity for every young child in the area to experience something fun and positive that is free.”
This year’s Child Fest kicks off April, the month of the young child, on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Mitchell High School from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please join us for this fun, free, family event that celebrates children and the joy they are. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the Blue Ridge Partnership for Children at 828.682.0717 or 828.733.2899.
