No Regrets Family–I want to thank you

By Pastor Dean Honeycutt

Mitchell County

In the Bible Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to give Him thanks. I want to thank Doug and Barbra for all they have done for our mountain communities. They have been a blessing to many people throughout our area and beyond. When I heard the news, they had sold the paper I was sad, but I was also happy for Doug and Barbra. They took the Blue Ridge Christian News and expanded it into the paper it is today. They have always encouraged me and helped me. I admit I am not a writer or journalist, but they gave me a voice to express what God says. I have written articles on many Biblical topics that would be controversial to some people, and never one time was I censored. Doug would say that is what God’s word says and you are welcome to write about God’s word. For that I thank you.

As I think back over the years, we (Blue Ridge Christian News) took on many issues in Western North Carolina. We upheld the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman. We fought for the unborn and the sanctity of human life. We fought against the sale of alcohol in Mitchell county. We have been a voice and offered help to those who are struggling with addictions. We have shared personal testimonies to the life-changing power of the Gospel. We stood on the Bible and upheld the Word of God. But most importantly we have shared the Love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ with thousands of people.

Doug and Barbra have been fair and treated people with respect. They have been a blessing to many churches big and small. They have shared our events and supported our causes. Doug and Barbra with tears in my eyes, thank you for all you have done. God bless you. Pam and I love you. Thank you for your friendship.

You two enjoy all that God has in store for you. You both have been through a lot and are a testimony to the grace of God even in suffering.

With much Love,

Pastor Dean and Pam Honeycutt
