Life Lessons

Life for all of us can get complicated at times. Quite often we bring it on ourselves because of our inner feelings of anger and frustration.  The feeling that the world is not fair to us, and in reality, life is not always fair.  There are times in our lives that things happen that are hard on our tranquility with what is going on at the moment.

Sometimes we let the weight on our shoulders burden us down.  I am talking about the grudges we tend to carry when we are upset with people, when we have been disappointed and hurt, either intentionally or unintentionally.  The anger we feel is like a cloud over us, a fog in our minds.

Forgiving is easier than forgetting, we can say that we forgive but continue to remember the hurt and pain we felt or feel.  Learning to put it behind us and moving on lightens our load and changes our entire outlook on the day, it removes the clouds from the horizon.

Jesus Christ came into this world as a sacrifice for our sins. His promise was to wash us white as snow, to erase the sin from our past, to be remembered no more.  We need to pray constantly to do the same for those that we feel wronged us in any way, to forgive and forget.

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Matthew 6:14-15 KJV

To be forgiven, Jesus says we must also forgive, a pretty strong statement from our Lord and Savior.  He also says that if we get ready to pray and have anger in our hearts, to go seek the one that we are angry with and make peace before we come to the altar to give and ask for forgiveness.
