PRAYER – PERSISTENCE REWARDED

By Glenda Ward

McDowell Countyprayer - persistence rewarded

There comes a time in life when our soul senses the glory of the Divine Being. We pray to God that we might enjoy Him, by praying in a manner with a new sort of affection. In this New Year pray to enjoy a sense of the glory and grace of God and a new sense of God’s plan for your guided future. It is our responsibility to pray with persistence to our Heavenly Father.

Psalms 125:1-2

God promises that His people will live in peaceful dwellings – homes in which one can experience peace. Open your minds so God’s truth can enter in. God will keep you in perfect peace, to those whose mind is stayed on Him: because you trusteth in Him (Reference Isaiah 26:3). “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,” (Isaiah 32:17-18) because you trusteth in Him.  For the secret of the peace of God – read Philippians 4:4-9.

Pray for PURITY of Heart

“Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God” (Matthew 5: 8). Pray to God for Purity of Heart to cleanse your way. Pray to stay pure in heart by taking heed to God’s Word. (Read Psalms 119:9-11). Pray for your loved ones to be sanctified so that they may know, reflect, and experience God.

Pray for Purpose and God’s Plan

Pray for the Purpose that you and your loved ones will grow in maturity in worship, discipleship, and ministry. Pray for the knowledge to obey the Will of God in your life and in the life of your loved ones. (Read 1 Colossians 1:19). Pray it would be said that favor is found in God’s eyes and fulfilled with Purpose in the generation thereof.

Pray – Asking God to Prosper your family

Ask God to abundantly bless the life, health, witness, and resources for your family to Prosper in His Will. He that seeks God and His Will – God will make him to Prosper. Pray for their testimony as they walk in the truth of God’s promise. (Reference 2 Chronicles 26:5; Psalms 118:25; 3 John 2).

Pray for Provision

“Give us this Day our Daily Bread” (Matthew 6:11). Ask God to provide the relationships, opportunities, and environment needed for the health, maturity, and development of your family. Seek encouragement to pray. (Reference Luke 11:2). “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; and they that dwell therein. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his Salvation” (Reference Matthew 7:7-11; Psalms 24:1,5,6). This is the generation of them that seek God, that seek His face. Amen.

Pray for the Promise of God’s Spirit

Ask God to pour out His Spirit – the outpouring of His Spirit upon sons and daughters. Ask for the manifestation of the Lord in their lives. We are to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our children and that it will continue for many generations. (Reference Joel 2:28-29). We can do nothing and hope that our children learn how to talk to God!

Claim God’s PROTECTION from evil

Ask God to be your Protector from evil, that of Satan’s attacks and schemes. Ask Protection from any physical, mental, and emotional harm. (Reference Matthew 6:13). “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us:” seek Protection from all harm, “for we are not ignorant of his devices” (2Corinthians 2:11).

Pray in 2021: Lift up a shield of protection for your family, to bless those you love, keeping in mind Persistence will be rewarded.
