Hope that Help is on the Way

By Christy Young

Mitchell Countyhope that help is on the way

Wow!  How assuring to hear that help is on the way in times of disaster or distress?  It’s a sense of security, safety, and comfort to know that help will soon be arriving.  This past year has definitely created fear and insecurity throughout our country.

If you are like me, I have been overwhelmed with emotions and the uncertainty of what the future holds for my family.  I have begun to pray and ask for God’s guidance, comfort, and peace.  He has revealed himself over and over.  God is always good! Life may be hard, but we have hope in Christ Jesus.

As we travel through this life, it is often easy to focus on the trials we face. But, I was reminded that my blessings way exceed any hardship that I have ever faced.  We serve a mighty God that is always available and has a willingness to work in our lives.  Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace in the time of need.”  The door to the throne is always WIDE open to God’s children, us.  We can come anytime, we don’t need an appointment.  Wow, that means that we can walk straight to the throne of grace when we need help.  We have a direct line to the Father!

I have realized that I am weak, and I am in such need of God’s strength in both the good times and bad.  But, it is so great to know that in our time of despair that we serve a God that is always faithful, compassionate, and able to calm our storms.  My son Hunter recently reminded me that God changed Saul from a man that persecuted Christians to a man of great faith and a desire to spread the gospel.  He is the same God, capable of miracles today.

I do not know what the future will bring, but I do know with complete confidence that I serve a God that will hold my hand to the end.  God promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  So, no matter what storm, hardship, or trial that you may be facing…Our God is always near.  Find your strength and refuge in HIM and believe in faith that help is on the way.
