The Great Commission

By Taylor Bramblett

McDowell County

My name is Taylor Bramblett, and in January of next year, I have been given the incredible opportunity to partake in a Cross-Cultural Internship (CCI) with Word of Life Belem, Brazil. God has given me a passion for discipleship, mobilization, and church planting in unreached tribal groups, and I can’t go without a team of people who will invest in me, prayerfully and/or financially.

“For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?” (Romans 10:13-15)taylor bramblett mission trip

In the Great Commission text in Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus calls every believer to go, teach, and disciple the nations. The word for “nations” in the original Greek language is “ethnos,” which directly translates to “ethnic/language groupings.” Jesus was not just calling us to share the gospel with merely anyone, He specifically asked us to go or send people to every single language group of the world! There are still 4000+ unreached ethnic/language groupings, and God wants to use believers to reach them! I desire to go where the gospel has not yet gone (as Paul expresses in Romans 15:20), where people would have no chance to “call on the name of the Lord” unless someone is sent to them. There are hundreds of these language groups of tribal communities in Brazil in the Amazon, all with a completely different worldview and darkened reality than those of us with access to the gospel from pretty much every other person we meet. They are animistic in belief and everything they do, think, and act on is subconscious because of their worldview. They have no hope unless someone goes and teaches them a biblical worldview and the gospel of Christ. They must be reached despite geographic, linguistic, cultural, and worldview barriers. These next 2 years of CCI will mobilize and equip me to spend a lifetime planting churches in unreached tribal groups and/or mobilizing others to do so! I will learn cultural adaptation and language acquisition skills, mobilize other young believers to fulfill the Great Commission and gain experience with tribal communities and church planting. Would you invest in my ministry, co-laboring in the gospel so we can both obey the Great Commission as you send me to Brazil?

If you are not a believer, I’d like to share the hope we have in Christ Jesus with you. We are all born with a sinful nature, we all sin and fall short of God’s glory. (Romans 3:23) The price we must all pay for that sin is death (Romans 6:23). We cannot have a relationship with God due to sin, ever since the first humans caused sin to enter the perfect world God created. But God always had a redemption plan in mind, and that was to send His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect, sinless life on earth. God sent His Son, who was fully human and fully God, to die FOR us because He loves us (John 3:16). On earth, the people He was sent to love rejected Him and crucified Him, and He died. But in His death, He took upon Himself ALL of our sins, taking on the punishment we deserved for our sin as the perfect sacrifice and atonement. He died on the cross so that you and I could have a relationship with God and spend eternity in heaven with Him! 3 days later, God raised Jesus from the dead, claiming victory over death and sin, giving us hope in eternity. Praise the Lord that there is no more condemnation now for those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1)! If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and your personal Savior, the only way you can get to heaven, then you are saved for eternity! You have crossed from death to life! I’d love to celebrate with you if you made that decision! Email me at tbram7@gmail.com and let me know how I can pray for you. (If you would like to know more, I would encourage you to read the Gospel of John.)
