What Are You Hungry For?

Often in the hectic world that we live in, we find ourselves rushing through the drive-thru at a fast-food restaurant to satisfy the emptiness in our stomach.  But, does that fast-food hamburger satisfy our hunger, or are we looking for something more fulfilling?  I myself would rather have a home-cooked meal with the meat, potato, and vegetable.  What are you hungry for in your spiritual walk?

Are you satisfied with the drive-thru version or are you longing for a full course portion of God?  In Matthew 5:6“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”  How satisfied are you with your life?  Do you long for a life of fullness, blessings, and happiness?  A life of that magnitude only comes from a daily relationship with God.

To have a daily relationship with our Father, we must first communicate with Him.  How do we speak with our Heavenly Father?  Prayer!  He wants us to talk to Him, tell Him how we feel, tell Him our troubles, and rejoice with Him in our blessings.  Through the power of prayer, we have a direct line to our Heavenly Father.

We need direction on the crazy journey that we call life.  He has equipped us with a manual, the Bible.  When we dig into God’s word, He gives us direction on how to face our problems and how to overcome the adversary.  Through prayer and seeking God’s word, we will find the satisfaction that we desire.   In John 6:35, “Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life, he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.”   Are you hungry, are you thirsty?  If so, the answer is Jesus.  Any man that comes to the Father…. will hunger and thirst no more!  How hungry are you?  Do you desire a drive-thru portion or a feast prepared by the Master?
