What God Thinks About You!

Do you feel loved by God?  If not, you will struggle to show love to others.  Loving people is not that hard when we understand and remember the way God loves us.  Each day, we need to remind ourselves what God thinks about us!  Not what the world thinks about us!  Not what other people think about us!  And not even what we think about ourselves!  We simply need to remind ourselves what God thinks about us.  Listen to what the Bible says in Isaiah 54:10; “The mountains and hills may crumble, but My love for you will never end.”  God thinks so much about us that even if His own creation crumbles, His love for us never will.  WOW, that’s amazing to me!  If we can remember these four things God thinks about us, it will help us to know how and why we can love others.

  • We are completely accepted. People spend much of their life trying to earn acceptance from other people.  Acceptance from parents.  Acceptance from peers.  Acceptance from co-workers.  Acceptance from complete strangers.  Acceptance from those you respect.  BUT we need and must realize that God has already settled this issue of acceptance for us.  When Jesus died on the cross, He made you completely acceptable to God.  It doesn’t matter what you have done, or said, or ever will do, you are completely acceptable to God.
  • We are unconditionally loved. God doesn’t say, “I love you if.”  He doesn’t say, “I love you because.”  He says, “I LOVE YOU, PERIOD!”  We cannot make God stop loving us, because His love isn’t based upon what we do, but on who He is!  “The mountains and the hills may crumble, but My love for you will never end.”
  • We are totally forgiven. When you trusted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you were totally forgiven of all sin.  The Bible says in Romans 8:1; “There is no condemnation for those who belong to Jesus Christ.”  God doesn’t store up our sins.  He doesn’t hold on to our sins.  He doesn’t rehearse our sins.  He releases our sins and places them in His Sea of forgetfulness never to be brought up against us again.  We are totally forgiven.
  • We are extremely valuable. Think about this.  The value of something is created by two things.  (1) Who the owner is.  (2) What someone is willing to pay for it.  You are a child of God, and you have been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.  Jesus paid for you with His own life.  That is how valuable you are to Him.

When we remember that we are accepted by God, loved by God, forgiven by God, and valuable to the Creator of this universe, we will then be better equipped to show love to others.  What does God think about you?  He completely accepts you!  He unconditionally loves you!  He has totally forgiven you!  And you are extremely valuable to Him!  Remembering what God thinks about you, will empower you to really love others!
