Fall Colors

Job 12:7-10  “But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:  Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.  Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?  In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.”

Once again, the Lord is getting ready to make western North Carolina a very color-filled, beautiful place. Already the fall colors are beginning in the higher elevations.  How amazing!  What a palette of colors the Lord uses to decorate the trees!  How amazing are His eyes and heart for beauty!

And if He will do that for Himself and for us to enjoy, what more will He do for those who love Him?  Paul wrote in Romans 8:32, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

As we look at the beauty of the trees let us remember there is a divine being, the Lord, who loves us so much and watches over us just as He does the trees.  Jesus Himself taught, “Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:27-32)

Are we not much more important in the Lord’s eyes than the grasses of the field, the colors of the trees and the sparrows?  Absolutely!  So, as we see the fall colors, or the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, or the beauty of a starry night or the moon that is so beautiful to gaze upon remembering that there is a God who loves us more than words can say.  He wants to walk with us through life!  He wants to encourage us, give us peace, make our lives full of joy and let us sense His presence in our lives fully.  He gave His only begotten Son for our salvation!

As I write this article, I am enjoying the Lord and want badly for you to enjoy Him as well.  Tell Him you love Him right now.  Tell Him how thankful you are to know that He is with you and will always be with you.  Walk with Him. Pray to Him.  Read His Word.  And, as you do these things feel His amazing love for you.

And, whenever you see the fall colors do not take them for granted.  Remember there is a God who does all of this for us every year as a demonstration of His love for us.
