Did you know that April is Abortion Recovery Awareness Month? One in four women by the age of 45 will have an abortion. According to statistics, there are 125,000 abortions per day worldwide. Since 1973, there have been almost 64,000,000 lives lost to abortion in America. There is a very good chance with these statistics that you know someone who has been affected by abortion or you may be the person that has been affected.
Hurt and regret after an abortion sometimes will happen immediately and then for some, it may take years for the hurt and pain they have buried to surface.
Anne Ministries reaches out to those who suffer silently from a past abortion. We are here to offer help and to let post-abortion women and men know they are not alone and that there is hope and healing after abortion.
As I have sat and listened to women over the years who have shared their abortion stories with me, the one thing most commonly said is “I can’t forgive myself.” I have to admit though, it is something I said too at one point in my life. The chains of guilt and shame that follow an abortion are too heavy. Many don’t think forgiveness is possible or they don’t deserve God’s forgiveness. This results in one not being able to fully accept God’s forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ. That’s the real struggle for those who suffer silently from abortion. The enemy loves for us to believe these lies and that’s how Satan keeps us bound in our sin and shame.
Friend, there is hope! God forgives the sin of abortion. You can accept God’s forgiveness. He loves you and wants you to walk in His forgiveness, healing, and grace.
Anne Ministries offers safe and confidential services and is committed to helping those hurting from a past abortion to find hope and healing through Jesus Christ. We have one-on-one and group Bible study support for both women and men. This past October the ministry offered “Surrendering the Secret” a weekend healing retreat for women who had experienced a past abortion. The Lord blessed us and we look forward to offering the retreat again this year. We also have a post-abortive support group “Beauty for Ashes” that meets monthly offering help and support to women.
