When it rains it Pours

I want to thank God for blessing my family and helping us. We just recently became grandparents again with the birth of our premature little bundle of joy Haizley River. She weighed just over five pounds. About six weeks before her due date, we were expecting Haizly to be born, but we knew if she could stay in the womb a little longer then her lungs and heart would develop more and be stronger. Premature babies usually need to be placed in neonatal intensive care units for medical treatment when born too early.
We prayed and asked God to allow Haizley to stay in the womb a little longer. Psalm 139:13-16
13 “For thou hast possessed my reins:
Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
Marvellous are thy works;
And that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee,
When I was made in secret,
And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;
And in thy book all my members were written,
Which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
God answered our prayers and little Haizley was born short of full term but, she did not need neonatal intensive care. God is so good, and I praise Him for all things in life the good and the difficult.
Our perspective and attitude on life decide how we respond to trials and circumstances. The expression “when it rains it pours” refers to many difficulties and challenges coming into your life at one time. These challenges are not just a “sprinkle” but a “downpour” of trials. We can either trust God or get upset and frustrated over our situation. Proverbs 3:5–6
5 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
And lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him,
And he shall direct thy paths.”
Just recently with the birth of our granddaughter and many financial problems coming at one time, it seems like I was overloaded. Four vehicles had mechanical problems that needed to be fixed, another financial expense occurred that I was not expecting, and I had to get a dental crown. I cannot stand going to the dentist. Lol
I was like what was going on? Lord, are you trying to get my attention? Do I need to tithe more or give more? Maybe some of these things or maybe this is just part of life and I need to trust God. Things could be far worse and are for many people. So, I should not complain. My attitude decides my altitude. Maybe this is a test of faith. You know God tests our faith. Maybe God is working on me. You know we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works. Or maybe I was doubting. Lord, “help my unbelief.”
Praise God we have spare vehicles we can drive, and God has provided the money for the vehicle repairs and financial challenges. God is good and He always provides a path forward. Psalm 37:25
25 “I have been young, and now am old;
Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his seed begging bread.”
“When it rains it pours” yet, God is in control. I can let the “downpours” of life discourage me, or I can know behind every dark cloud is a silver lining. And after every rain, there is a rainbow.
