Hardest Times

“I’ve experienced some of the hardest times in my life recently, and I’ve had the most joy I can ever remember” This was a conversation I had recently with a client. She went on to say when you concentrate on all the ways God has blessed you, you can’t help but see His hand in your life. She recently started a “blessing wall” where she wrote out all the good things God is doing.  She is running out of room to contain all the amazing things He is accomplishing in her life!

This was such confirmation for me. The staff and I literally had a conversation the day before about how we had been weathering some pretty intense storms. The Lord has been so faithful to show up and take care of us in a variety of ways. I reminded them about the Children of Israel and how they would set up stones of remembrance when the Lord did something miraculous for them. We agreed that when the next storm comes, we will remind each other of the goodness of God.

As humans, we so quickly forget what God has done and what He can do. We shake our heads at how the Children of Israel freaked out at every obstacle even though they watched Him part the Red Sea and provide manna in the desert. However, we are no different. Somehow when a situation presents itself, we think THIS might be the one time God doesn’t show up. We think we have to take care of ourselves because maybe He forgot about us.

At the Center, we have set up our very own “blessing wall”, our stone of remembrance if you will. It only has a few items on it right now, but I’m sure we will be in the same boat with our client very soon and begin running out of room! If you have a chance, stop by and ask us to show you our blessing wall. We’d love to tell you some of our God stories! What are some ways God has blessed you? I encourage you to set up your own stone of remembrance and share with others what the Lord has done in your life.
