Sinn Fein’s leader has called on the prime minster for a referendum on the unification of Ireland at Labour’s party conference in Liverpool.

Mary Lou McDonald told Sky News that a new British government brings "opportunities" and believes Sir Keir Starmer should be preparing for a referendum, which is outlined in the Good Friday Agreement.
