Something To Think About – God is Really There!

Listen to what the Bible says in Psalm 37:23. “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” WOW, what a great promise and what an awesome assurance from our Lord. He is going to direct our steps and He delights in EVERY detail of our life. Don’t miss that little word “EVERY.” The Bible says that He delights in EVERY detail of our life. Now, this verse doesn’t say that we delight in EVERY detail of our life, but it says that our Lord delights in EVERY detail of our life.
You probably recall the story of the two discouraged disciples as they walked on the road to Emmaus. These guys thought Jesus was dead and there was now no hope for them. But as they walked, Jesus suddenly joins them on their journey, but they were so down and out that they didn’t even recognize it was Jesus. So, Jesus asked them, “Guys, why the long faces? What’s the problem?” Do you recall what they said? They said, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about the events of the last few days.” Jesus said, “What things?” They said, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth. How the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him up to be crucified. We were hoping that it was Him who was going to redeem Israel. And now, today is the third day since these things happened.”
It wasn’t until these guys arrived in Emmaus that they finally realized that it was Jesus Himself who was talking with them. Here it is, don’t miss it! Life is often that way too! There are times when we sense the presence of the Lord in our lives and then there are times when we don’t feel His presence. And it’s those times when we don’t feel His presence that we wonder if God has abandoned us. And the answer is NO He has not! The Bible says that He will never leave us or forsake us. The Bible says in Psalm 37:23 that the Lord directs our steps and that He delights in EVERY detail of our lives. There are times in life when God seems absent, but He never is! He is really always there! He is there to direct our steps and He even delights Himself in EVERY detail of our lives.
I don’t know what you are facing today. I don’t know what battles you are fighting today. I don’t know the struggles you are having today. But I do know this. I know that God is really there with you even if it feels like He isn’t. Why not take a moment today and say; “Thank you Lord that You are really there even though I can’t sense You are there!”
