God’s Revelation
“WHERE ARE YOU?”

“Thus, saith the Lord the King of Israel, and His redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last, and beside me, there is no God” (Isaiah 44:6).
There is no authority beyond and above God our Father. Our responses to Him can reveal at times that we have forgotten Who is truly in charge. We can see God’s power throughout all of Scripture and if we look back, we can also see that His presence and His power has been at work in our life already. The prophet Isaiah challenges us to think rightly about who God is. God is in control. He isn’t fretting or worried about anything. At times it may be hard for us to trust and believe that God is in charge and can be in control of our care when we’re called to place our trust and hope in Him and Him alone. But we can.
We should not fret or worry about things we cannot change but instead, we should pray. Although we may be strong in body, if we fail to heed God’s nourishment and fail to soak in His Holy Word; our daily bread of guidance, leadership, and God’s Will in our life; then we become faint in our walk with God and in seeking His nearness. We should pray for strength, wisdom, protection, and courage to face whatever struggles are currently in our lives or are to come. Our worrying should be turned into prayers lifted up through faith in Him. Through our prayers and trusting our life in His care, we can rest in His blessed assurance that He is in charge of all our circumstances and that we also have a beautiful inheritance awaiting us. Until that day when Jesus Christ returns to take all God’s children home, we should always be in prayer and supplication putting our hope and trust for our daily lives in the hands of God our Father.
Does God ever ask you, “Where are you?” “Do you want to become planted in My likeness?” Do you want to be made whole?” These are not questions based on information. God is not asking because He doesn’t know. He is asking because He wants to reveal something to you, a revelation in your life. Revelation: Is God’s disclosure to man of Himself and His Will. The revelation to be learned is both about ourselves and about Him. Through these three questions and these words: “Where are you?” God brings us to a point of revealing that we are, in a sense, hiding from His presence. And because of His great love, He is seeking us out to be in a right relationship with Him.
“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me” (Acts 26:18).
What is it Jesus wants to reveal to us with these questions? When we come to Jesus and we find Him confronting us with such questions, the reason behind the questions is for one of two things: either information or revelation. We know God knows the information; therefore, He must be seeking some kind of revelation in our answers. It’s to open our eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, a revelation in our life. Revelation is God’s disclosure to man of Himself and His Will. So, what does God want to reveal to us?
– We need to be healed from the ongoing sin in our lives.
– We need to be healed from wounds of our painful circumstances.
– We need to heal our spiritual being to cope and live at peace with situations in our lives that we cannot change.
At the moment when we acknowledge these questions, we are forced to look inside ourselves. Even though our situations and circumstances may be painful, at least we know they are things we can seek God’s comfort for, know He is in control, be at peace with ourselves and our circumstances. Healing is good but healing can also be painful and uncomfortable. Our healing means releasing ourselves totally to God’s care. It means we are trusting that God is better than whatever lifestyle we are currently clinging to. If we are willing to say yes to needing help with our troubles and trials of circumstance, if we look inside ourselves and see that being healed means departing from situations we are trying to fix and work through ourselves, or worrying about circumstances we cannot change; and move forward into the unknown with Jesus; it is then He is willing and we receive our Revelation. It is His Will to provide solace and comfort: in times of grief, loneliness, and heartbreak. It is His Will to lessen the hurting and pain in health and feelings of distraught and despair in each of our lives. Whatever the process may be …the process may be long, but the healing will come. All we have to do is accept what God promises. He can and will bring healing and comfort if we put our trust in Him and Him alone. You can be at peace in God’s arms and His loving care.
When Jesus faces you with these questions; recognize that He’s not after information but a revelation in your life. Look inside yourself and when you do; what will you say?
