Will You Surrender to HIS Perfect Will?

By Christy Young

Mitchell Countychristy young mitchell county will you surrender to His perfect will

Certain aspects of God are beyond our understanding.  One aspect that comes to mind is how He uses prayer to accomplish His will.  I admit that I pray seeking God’s will in my life, but expect that when He answers or works that everything will be smooth and painless.  But that is not always the case.  We serve a sovereign, omnipotent, all-knowing God who needs no one’s help (especially not mine).  He allows us to participate in His divine plan through prayer and obedience.  We must completely surrender and understand that we are not capable of anything good without the help and guidance of God.

Often, we are put into uncomfortable situations/environments to shine the presence of God and to pray that God will move and make a better way.  Nehemiah was moved to pray after hearing about the hardships of the Jews who’d returned to Jerusalem following the Babylonian captivity.  Nehemiah poured his heart out to God for a specific need.  The Lord answered Nehemiah’s prayers by paving a way and providing the resources that would allow him to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.  Although we may not see dramatic and obvious answers when we pray, God hears our prayers and knows when our hearts hurt.  Our Heavenly Father wants us to come to Him through prayer and present our needs; believing that He will respond in a way that will further HIS will for our life.  I confess that there are times that I wonder if He is working.  But I am reminded through His word that He loves me so very much, would never forsake me, and has a perfect plan.  Therefore, I must seek the same God of Heaven that Nehemiah did and pour out my heart to Him.  Amid the adversity, it’s often hard to pray and understand.

But God understands our pain when we can’t utter a word.  Romans 8:26-28 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”  Know that He, God the Father, allows us to be a participant in His perfect will.  Pray, seek His guidance, and know whatever pain or hardship you may endure is worth serving a Savior such as mine.  Be bold and courageous in Christ Jesus, believing that the battle has already been won and the victory is His.  The current events of our life may be beyond understanding, but God’s love and certainty is unfailing.  Will you surrender to being a participant in HIS perfect will?
