The Pit

Do we desire something, or do we desire God to do something? Praying for things, healings and other earthly advantages we desire in this world could be just another disappointment for the child of God. Yea, in the way of thy judgments, “O LORD, have we waited for thee, the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee; “ Isaiah 26:8.
Finally, as the child of God is drawn (John 6:44) to climb up out of the pit, after all that stumbling around in the dark, having been led to that ladder anchored into the bedrock, we now know it was put there for us by Christ Jesus our LORD. Now we begin to think about how many years, or decades, we’ve been down in that hole? Perhaps almost a lifetime for some of us. Having reached the top, we sit at the edge of the pit, naked, dirty, and hungry. Yes, our sins ever before us ( Psalm 51:3) but wonderfully no longer so blinded with the sins of humanity; He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock [Christ Jesus], and established my goings, Psalm. 40:2.
At last, the Spiritual light of Christ flashes in our face; He begins to wash us clean of all our sins. Job 33:30; to bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living. Our eyes now wide open, fully adjusted to the Light of Christ, as he feeds us with his word. In hope, we wait for Christ’s covering with His garment so pure and white. Our prayer is that we, or some else, might desire to be filled with the knowledge of Christ Jesus. His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:9 &10.
A Sinners Nightmare
Fallen into this pit,
Down so deep,
Clawed my way up,
Slide back, real steep.
Can’t find a crack,
A brace or step,
No grip to grab,
So slippery and wet.
Been in this hole,
A life to long,
No strength at all,
Need someone strong.
A rope or chain,
Perhaps I’ll find,
My outlooks grim,
Dark all the time.
Some morning light,
Shines down so near,
Someone else,
Was trapped in here.
Bones and sneakers,
Litter the ground,
My Hope is soon,
That I’ll be found.
What else is this?
A Book so aged?
A special note,
Written on a page.
Find the Rock!
On that you climb.
Get to searching,
Stop wasting time.
A Ransom paid,
For your way out,
This fact you trust,
Without a doubt.
Down the tunnel,
It’s just ahead,
Don’t stop looking,
Or else you’re dead.
My eyes wide open,
What a dreadful dream,
This horrible pit,
It can’t be seen.
My Bible Study,
Put me to fright,
This restless sleep,
A terrible night.
Those highlighted verses,
Stand out so yellow,
Perhaps will help,
Some other fellow.
Remembering now,
What the Bible said,
Amazing verses,
Stuck in my head.
“In a dream, in a vision at night, when deep sleep falleth upon men; in slumberings +upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword [ the Word of God].”Job 33, 15-18.
“He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock [Christ Jesus], and established my goings.” Psalm. 40:2.
