FINDING JOY IN YOUR JOURNEY

By Shelley Grindstaff

Mitchell County

“Weeping may endure for a night BUT JOY comes in the morning” …What about those seasons when the night is long and morning never seems to come? How do you, ‘Count it ALL Joy” as Paul says in the midst of your worst suffering? If you have been in a season of despair, depression and hard battles come to join us as we worship the One who “for the joy set before Him, endured the cross” so we could have the joy of our salvation restored.

Come find out what it means for God to give you the “Oil of Joy for mourning and a garment of praise for the Spirit of heaviness.” Come experience the restoration of your Joy!  This is a nondenominational event led by Shelley Grindstaff, who has a heart for seeing broken woman healed and come to an intimate relationship with Jesus. She also has the heart to see women of all denominations and backgrounds joined together in one Spirit worshiping together.

This will be held at High Pastures Retreat Center in Burnsville, NC.  Dinner starts Friday, October 4th at 5:30, followed at 6:45 by an evening of Joyful worship led by Ryan and Maria Anglin and a testimony time sharing what God has done these past 7 years. At 9 pm you can enjoy fellowship and smores around the fire or a movie at the lodge.

Saturday you will enjoy more worship and heart stories from some Women who have found Joy in the midst of some hard journeys. Kimberly Duncan, who radiated joy even in the midst of her battle with cancer and chemo will share her powerful story of God’s grace and transforming power throughout her life.

Sarah Rotecameto, from last year’s conference with suicidal thoughts from years of battling mental illness but had a real encounter with the Holy Spirit and it brought forth a real transformation, not only to her but to her family.  She was set free by the blood of Jesus and His Word and filled with a Joy.  She loves to share her story now.

Shelley Grindstaff will share truths from God’s Word that will equip you to experience the true joy that is not based on circumstance or emotion.  Staying at High Pastures is encouraged to get away from distractions. A Room with 3 meals is $ 60.  There is an option for retreat only for $10 if you are unable to stay and you also can add individual meals as well. Registrations can be picked up or dropped off at The Bridge church in Spruce Pine or Higgins UMC in Burnsville. They need to be turned in by September 25th for a meal count.
