Freedom Life’s Hurricane Relief Efforts

Freedom Life, a faith-based reentry organization, has been deeply impacted by the recent hurricane that swept through Avery, McDowell, and Yancey Counties. In the wake of this devastation, the organization has stepped up to provide essential support and aid to those affected by the natural disaster.
To help rebuild the lives of their clients who have lost so much, Freedom Life has established a hurricane relief fund on their webpage. This fund will be used to provide critical resources and assistance to individuals and families impacted by the hurricanes.
The regional main office of Freedom Life served as a command center for the organization’s three county offices during the crisis. From this central hub, staff members were able to slowly but surely make contact with all of their clients to assess their needs and provide immediate support.
One of the organization’s primary focuses has been to collect and distribute essential supplies to those affected by the hurricane. Freedom Life has worked tirelessly to ensure that its clients have access to food, water, clothing, and other necessities. Freedom Life staff and clients have also been volunteering at area distribution centers to help speed up the process of getting items to those in need in our communities.
Beyond providing material assistance, Freedom Life has been committed to offering emotional support and spiritual guidance to its clients. The organization has been meeting with individuals, praying with them, listening to their stories, and working to address their needs in holistic ways.
Unfortunately, the hurricane has forced Freedom Life to cancel several fundraisers that are crucial to the operation of their offices and client care programs. The organization’s popular “Art, Chocolate, and Stories” event has been rescheduled for the spring. However, Freedom Life has decided to proceed with their “Dollywood style” cinnamon bread fundraiser in mid-November and mid-December. This delicious treat is available for $10 a loaf, and interested individuals can find more information on the organization’s website and Facebook page.
In addition to the cinnamon bread fundraiser, Freedom Life will be hosting their 4th annual Fireside event at Grace Community Church on Monday, December 2nd at 6:30 pm. This festive gathering will feature Gogo’s warm cinnamon rolls for all attendees.
Freedom Life’s response to the hurricanes has been nothing short of inspiring. The organization has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving their community and helping those in need. Through their relief efforts, Freedom Life has provided a beacon of hope for countless individual clients and client families affected by this natural disaster.
