God vs Phone

You wake up to it every morning. You may even take it with you to the shower. You check it as you are getting ready for work. You use it while you are driving to surf the web, text, and talk to friends, family, and co-workers. You check it throughout the workday. You are on it practically the entire time you are at lunch. You have it in use while you are on the way home from work. You monitor it while cooking dinner and are using it while you are eating dinner. You utilize it while watching TV. You carry it to bed and most likely on it while in bed. Yes, I am talking about your smartphone. Howbeit there is nothing smart about them!
Now for the tough questions. Do you talk to God first thing when you wake up in the morning? Do you pray while you are in the shower and getting ready to go to work? Do you talk to God while you are on your commute to work? Do you talk to God while you are at work? Do you talk to God while you are on your lunch break? Do you talk to God while you are on your commute home from work? Do you pray while you are cooking dinner? Do you have a dedicated prayer time during which your phone is off and the thought of it is completely free from your mind? Do you pray while you are lying in bed before you go to sleep? Remember it’s not me asking you these questions LOL. This article comes from the Lord so don’t shoot the messenger!
The devil’s greatest area of attack is your mind. That is where the wheat and tares are sown. My dear friend who was a true prophet of God prophesied that the time we live in today would be a battle for the mind. Many have lost and smartphones are the number one culprit. To reiterate, if you say you can’t live without your smartphone, you are a liar. Too bold for you? Not as bold as the devil keeping you comfortable in a state of idolatry and doublemindedness! Let you forget, that the devil knows the word of God better than most Christians and especially the following verses. James 1:7-8 “For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in ALL his ways.” So one of his chief goals is to get you double minded and keep you in that state. As I have revealed many times in this article over the years, the smartphone is most addictive because it contains all the things that make our carnal mind remain stirred; telephone, internet, music, games, and endless notifications and alerts.
What is even scarier is I have been including this installment of Heartbeat Christian News called Todd’s Techy Tips for about 10 years and I have only seen the addiction statistics increase dramatically. I still haven’t heard from one Christian who has given up their smartphone. And yet God still impresses me every month with a new topic. Which tells us what? That if those of you who are reading this article and own smartphones aren’t taking heed to the warnings then the judgment of God is only getting stronger against you. Again, I personally do not care what you do from one person to another but I can tell you that God’s anger is unlike anything this country has ever experienced once He begins to pour His wrath heavily. Psalm 90:11 “Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.”
The very best exhortation I can give you is to seek God mightily for the truth as it pertains to you personally whether or not you are addicted to your smartphone! If you have any doubt at all, you best get rid of that beast and get yourself a flip phone and a laptop. Your soul is at stake. I would think there would be more Christians who would contact me and thank me for having the courage to obey God Almighty and stand against these wicked idols in a public manner. I don’t need the accolades but it builds my faith. As far as I know, I am one of the very very few preachers who not only doesn’t own a smartphone but is actually preaching against them.
