He will see you through

This past year a friend at our church has been walking through a difficult season with her child who has been hospitalized due to a congenital heart disease. Over the past few months, they had been patiently awaiting a new heart. Over the past year, they have experienced major setbacks and breakthroughs! Through it all, they have continued to keep their faith and trust in God. About two weeks ago, their daughter received her perfect heart in the arms of Jesus.
After watching their journey of challenges with their daughter, it seemed like every time things seemed to have gotten better they took a turn for the worse.
Have you ever experienced a season where everything seems to be taking a turn for the worse?
Habakkuk did. He experienced many struggles and they just seemed to keep getting worse as time went on.
There is a lesson to learn from Habakkuk. Rather than focusing on how big his problems were, he decided to focus on how big His God was. Through all his hardships, he was able to rejoice in the Lord! Habakkuk knew that even though his situation or season looked bad God was going to see him through.
Sometimes God will lead us to places we don’t want to go. He has a plan and reason for everything He does, even if we don’t see it. God was Habakkuk’s strength. He knew that God would get him through what he couldn’t on his own. This is why he can rejoice in his difficult season.
I know that without Jesus, this friend I mentioned would not be able to face the days ahead. But She has Jesus and the promise of Heaven.
It’s difficult to be grateful when we are in the depths of despair. If we can learn to be overcome by his greatness instead of life’s greatest hardships then we too will be able to praise Him even in the hardest of times!
Let’s choose to trust that God will see us through. He saw Habakkuk through, He’s seeing this friend through, and I know he’ll see you through too!
Habakkuk 3:18
“yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.”
