Thank God For His Holy Spirit

There was a famous commercial years ago. “Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what-a-relief-it-is.” The commercial advertised, Alka-Seltzer a medicine designed to help with an upset stomach. Alka-Seltzer would be triggered by dropping the two tablets into water and when they enter the water they started fizzing and fizzing like a volcano. When people accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, God drops the Holy Spirit into their new lives. The Holy Spirit’s presence is designed to bring change into our upset lives, upset minds, and upset circumstances. God did this so we could discover “Oh-what-a-relief-He-is.”
I am so thankful for the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life. It’s the Holy Spirit that convicted me that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. It was the Holy Spirit that gave me a New Life when He entered my heart when I was saved. He gave me, New Eyes, New Ears, New Mind, New Ways, New Job, and most of all a New Love to experience and to share with others. Oh, how we need the Holy Spirit presents in our lives.
If you think about it the Holy Spirit is so important in the lives of Christians. The Holy Spirit to a Christian is like Oxygen is to a human being. It’s like this when a deep-sea diver enters the water with tanks on their backs. These tanks hold oxygen. The purpose of these tanks strapped to their back is so that they can make it in a foreign world. Sea water is not their natural habitat: it’s not the normal place for them to live, so for them to survive in this foreign world of water, they need to be connected to a life source from their real world. In order to make it in that world. In other words, if they get disconnected from the air in this world, they won’t last long in that world. Their connection is the key to their survival because they weren’t meant to live in water. So, they borrow from this world in order to live in that world.
That life source in the life of a Christian is the Holy Spirit. God has given the Christian a life source because this world to the Christian is foreign territory. In order to live here and make it, you need to be connected to a life source from your real world. See if you get disconnected from your real-world, you want to make it in this world as a Christian follower. You’ll be gasping for air that this world doesn’t offer because it is foreign territory. See our life source comes through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God. God gives us life and life more abundantly through His Holy Spirit. Thank you, God, for giving us your Holy Spirit to live inside of us each day.
