The Great Harvest

You are probably just finishing a great feast from Thanksgiving with your family. Did you know that God is preparing a great feast and harvest for us?
I didn’t think about it until a neighbor brought three boxes of tomatoes for me to put up for my family. Someone had given her a bunch and she kept what she needed and shared the rest with my family. I washed each one and froze them anticipating the many meals to come.
This got me thinking about God’s great harvest and how He needs our help. He needs us to go out and reach as many people as we can and tell them about Jesus. If they don’t accept Jesus right away that’s okay. He just wants us to plant seeds about Him and He will take care of the rest. See when we plant the seed, it gets the person thinking, and God will send someone else to water the seed we planted and it will start to grow. God will use us to help draw them closer to Him until that person accepts Him. That’s why it is so important for us to strive to always be Christlike. We want others to want Jesus in their hearts. If we act poorly it reflects on God and they might decide they don’t want anything to do with Him.
When every people group in the whole world has heard about Jesus, He will do His great harvest. Jesus will come back and harvest us. He will take us back with Him to heaven to live with Him. Then later we will join Him and live with Him on the new earth. Is that not great? It is great for us but we need to make sure we help others become believers too so they can be there as well.
Did you know that Jesus is preparing a great feast and a mansion for us in heaven? What a glorious day it will be when we get there! No more pain, no sin, no sickness, no worries, no death, just a peaceful, wonderful time we will spend with Jesus for the rest of eternity! I can not wait for that glorious meal and harvest! And I can’t wait to see you there!
Dear Lord, as our time draws near, help us get out of our comfort zone and tell others about You. Please help us plant seeds and help others come along behind us to water them. As these seeds grow, please draw each person closer to You to where they accept You as their Savior. Thank you, dear Lord, for the great feast and harvest, and for the mansion, You have prepared for us! In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
