What is the most read article in the world? What is it? We should find out about the most read collection of articles globally to answer this question. Here is the story.
Once upon a time, far away in the post-communist country, a single mother had a rebellious son who had no respect for his mom nor lived a healthy lifestyle. His mom continually asked him to stop consuming alcohol, cigarettes, and different narcotics and come to know God. He refused over and over again. His mother reached the point where she couldn’t do anything but pray for her child, who had arrived at the point of no return and had lost his freedom. Eventually, the mother passed away, which could have been the end of the story, but something unique happened to her son. He returned to the home where they had lived and found a book with many highlights inside. On the front of the book was the title “Holy Bible.” With many different highlights, inside the book were numerous prayers for her only son. He could not help but begin to read the book. A personal transformation took place, and that man surrendered himself to the Lord.
What is unique about that book? It has collections of articles written by forty different authors, during 1500 years, who lived on three continents. Today the Bible is the most published, translated, distributed, and read book globally! No other book can even come close to the Bible. It educates, rebukes, corrects, sanctifies, and guides many humans to the path of life. The Bible reveals God’s will and shows His love.
Yes, it is written by humans, but they were inspired by the Holy Ghost. Millions believe that it is the written Word of God. It reaches people at all different life points and brings hope and happiness to many seeking souls. It gives direction in this life and leads to everlasting life! Jesus Christ Himself, in the prayer to His Father, asked: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17 KJV). Jesus is in the Word, and Jesus is the Word (John 1:1-3). The Bible is the only source of faith and duty in this dark and confusing world (Psalm 119:105).
In 1995, the Guinness Book of World Records declared the Bible the number one best-selling book of all time, with over 5 billion copies sold and distributed worldwide and translated into 349 languages. It is even more today.
