Who’s Leading You?

Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” In my observations going about my everyday routine, I notice that most everyone above the age of 12 is led by their smartphone. And God has blessed me with a very keen sense of observation. This is idolatry; plain and simple. It is a lie to say you can’t live without it. People did for thousands of years. I’ve said before that everything people do with smartphones, I do with a dumb phone and a laptop computer. I’ve said it before and I would strongly exhort you to take heed. God is Who put in my heart to write Todd’s Techy Tips every month for over 8 years. Why? Because smartphones are leading many souls to hell.
Smartphones have built into them everything that captivates the human mind and keeps it embroiled for hours. The companies behind the design and sale of these phones want every human on this planet to be addicted to these devices and spend as much time on them every day as possible. They spend millions of dollars in design, programming, marketing, and retail space to peddle these little idols to you and your children. Why? Because, next to prescription drugs, it is most likely the most profitable business on the planet. Perhaps even more profitable than the drug industry. But more importantly, it is the most effective form of freewill mind control ever known to the devil. Parents put these wicked devices into the hands of their impressionable children at an early age exposing them to things their minds and, most importantly, their souls are not able to protect themselves against. And these parents seem to think God is just giving them a pass; not so!
So the question again is. Who is leading you? If it’s not the Spirit of God, then you are living in disobedience to the Lord. It’s obedience to the faith that we are supposed to be striving for according to Jude 1:3; not religion or theology or man-made opinions or institutional doctrines. Remember that God does not accept the excuse that everyone else has them or that you can’t live without them; period! Or that your child pressured you so vehemently for a smartphone that you couldn’t refuse them. Who’s the parent after all? I have proven both by revelation from the Lord and scientific fact that people who possess smartphones are in a constant state of a distraction even when they aren’t on them.
I call them head bobbers as they drive along with their attention bouncing incessantly between their phones and the road. It is only by the grace of God that we don’t have many more car accidents today than we do thanks to these dumb little idols. One great distinction between Christians and worldly folks is supposed to be that Christians aren’t in bondage to the same things as the other. Almost every preacher I know has these smartphones so they can’t preach against them without being a hypocrite. Doesn’t make the fact they have them right though. There is a day of reckoning coming for this idolatry and it has already started.

The fear of the Lord teaches us that when God convicts you of sin in your life, He will only do so for a while regarding the same sin. After that, He will let you become addicted to it and judge you accordingly. And after all, that, is only the grace, undeserved favor, of God if you ever get the chance to be delivered from it. There is a day coming soon when these dumb little devices will be used to track your every move and will serve like electronic ankle bracelets they put on parolees. Mark my words, for it shall come to pass!
