Common Sense

Howdy Folks,
The 4th of July is here. People will be breaking out the red, white and blue, banners, flags, shirts, and lights to show our support, honor, and respect for our nations, and its leaders and soldiers who are serving and have fought and even died for our country. I pray that we do not forget to thank God for our freedom and that we never take our freedom for granted. I Love America. And I know that America would not be here today if it were not for God. When we look at our money we can see that it has on it “In God We Trust” our Court House has on it “In God We Trust”. Our Police & Sheriff department vehicles have on them in Mitchell County “In God We Trust”. We Sing God Bless America, and He surely has done that, to say the least. God has Blessed America but what has America done with its Trust for God, and the Blessing that He has given us so graciously?
Well, America just like the children of Israel have turned their back on God. His Blessings have turned into our bondage. His Grace and Mercy that He extends daily has turned into our freedom of choice to do and live as we please. America like Israel has turned its eyes to the idols of this old world. (Idols are anything that we put before God.) We have rebelled against God by serving our idols of pleasure, money, land, houses, children, sex, and drugs. If you study, America just like Israel is also serving the idol of this government thinking that it will protect them and meet their daily needs. The Bible tells us to “Trust in the Lord,” not the Government. The Bible also tells us in Philippians 4:19 says “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” When people fail to trust God to meet their needs in this world it is not long till Judgement follows.
Time and time again we have seen the judgment of God fall upon his chosen people Israel. So there is no reason for you or me or America to think, that we are not going to face judgment. I believe that judgment is knocking at our door, this very hour. Why do you say that? Look at all the perversion that is going on in this land. Men and women alike do not know what gender they are anymore. Men and women alike fail to understand how God intended humans to reproduce. Look at all the people who are hooked on their idols of self, drugs and alcohol, pornography, and perverted sex. Look at all the murders that are taking place through anger and abortions. Just look how common sense is no longer in our homes, marriages, government, schools, colleges and it is sad to say that it has even come into many churches. We even say we want protection and today we have people who want to do away with that protection. People believe guns kill when in fact it is people that use guns to kill with. This just shows us clearly that God has already started turning people over to a reprobate mind. And if you don’t know what a reprobate mind is, “It is a person who has rejected the Gospel to a point where God in turns rejects them and curses their conscience.” This is where we are at today in America.
Until people once again start honoring and respecting and living by God and His precious Word they can all expect to experience the judgments of God in and on their lives. My prayer for America is: May we start respecting and honoring God once again before it is too late.
Words Of Wisdom:
- When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when the character is lost, all is lost. Billy Graham
- Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone – except God. Billy Graham
- Freedom does not come without a price. We may sometimes take for granted the many liberties we enjoy in America, but they have all been earned through the ultimate sacrifice paid by so many of the members of our armed forces. Charlie Dent
- Life is a precious gift – a gift we often take for granted until it is threatened. N/A
- Don’t take for granted your freedom to worship God, because if we do it might just be taken away. Pastor Steve Williams
Something To Think About:
Mildred, the church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the church’s morals kept sticking her nose in the other members’ private lives. Church members were unappreciative of her activities but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his pickup truck parked in front of the town’s only bar one afternoon.
She commented to George and others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.
George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just walked away. He didn’t explain, defend, or deny; he said nothing.
Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred’s house… and left it there all night!
