Daughter Organized Fundraiser for Mom

Misty Roberts has organized a fundraiser to raise money for a wheelchair-accessible van for her mom, Lynn Roberts of Morganton at https://www.gofundme.com/f/wheelchair-accessible-van-for-lynn-roberts.
Lynn has lived in Morganton since 1985. She is the daughter of the late Landon and Martha Burris of Waynesville. She graduated from Tuscola High School in Waynesville in 1969. Lynn contracted polio as a kid and had numerous surgeries. Unfortunately, as she got older, her legs got worse and now she is in a wheelchair full-time.
2022 has been a very difficult year for Lynn because her husband, Gary was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in February 2022. Gary has been her rock and a great helper for many years, but now he is in the fight of his life against cancer.
Lynn rarely goes anywhere now because it is so difficult to get in a car. She has missed out on many things. She almost did not make it to an important family reunion in August.
Misty shared this, “We really need a wheelchair-accessible van with a power ramp. It would make things so much easier. Even used wheelchair vans are expensive. I would love to bless her with a reliable van with less than 100,000 miles.”
Misty also shared this, “My mom is one of the most generous and selfless people you will find. She thinks other people’s needs are more important than hers. I would love to meet this important need in her life.”
