Howdy

This month we celebrate Father’s Day. I’d like to take the time to thank my dad for being a good father. Here are a few things I can say about my dad. He Loves me. He loved my mom and was good to her.  He is an honest man, and

he is also a Godly man. He loves his church, Sunday School, Bible Study, singing in the choir, and telling people how good God has been to him. He is proud to be a Gideon and hand out the Word of God and lift up pastors and their families in prayer every Saturday morning. He worked hard to provide for me and Mom and he loved his job at Charlotte Pipe Foundry for way over 30 years. He was proud of his country where he served in the Airforce, Army, and Army Reserves where he retired. He loves the United States of America and its flag, and he flies it proudly in his yard today. He’s a good friend to me and he’s a good friend to have on your side. I see him helping others a lot. He makes me laugh, and he also makes me cry when he shares how Good God has been to him. He loves life, he loves his friends and he loves his family and is proud of his grandkids and great-grandkids. I know that I can count on him, he has shown me this all of his life. He loves to eat and have a good time with family and friends. He takes time to visit others and tries to bring a little cheer to people at the nursing home and shut-ins in the community. He loves to go and even at 85 years of age, he is not slowing down much. I know he is not perfect, but he is my dad and a Christian that I am very proud of.  I hope that I can be just a little of the man that my dad is.  HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Words of Wisdom

  • Don’t pay attention to the person who belittles you. He’s trying to cut you down to his size.
  • Want a good spouse? Be one.
  • The Lord uses those Christians who stay cool in a hot place, sweet in a sour place, and straight in a crooked place.
  • Obstacles are those terrible things you see when you take your eyes off the Lord.
  • You can’t climb the ladder of success with your hand in your pocket.

Focus on Father

  • Many fathers are finding out that a pat on the back helps to develop character if given often enough, early enough, and low enough.
  • The family tree is worth Bragging about if it consistently produces good timber and not just nuts.
  • A Child isn’t likely to find a father in God unless he finds something of God in his father.
  • Whether a man ends up with a nest egg or a goose egg depends on the chick he married.
  • Every father teaches, some by what he says, more by what he does, but most by what he is.

Question of the Month;

If you aren’t going all the way for God, why go at all?
