What’s In A Name

Oftentimes folks inquire about why our store is named Three Nails Hardware. At first, the questions caught us off guard because we thought it would be very evident the reason for the name. In time, we began to cherish the question because it gives us a chance to share what God has done for us, as believers, and what He can do for anyone who will accept His free gift of salvation.
Our store’s namesake is what we believe to be the most important hardware in the history of mankind, the three nails from Calvary. God’s word tells us that Jesus, God’s only son, who was sinless and blameless, took our place on the cross at Calvary. History tells us that three nails were used to attach Jesus to the wooden cross. There are some that will debate the number of nails, but the most important point is that our Lord and Savior allowed the nails to be used because of His love for you and I. It wasn’t nails that held him to the cross, it was His great love. Romans 5:6-8 says this: “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradenture for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” It didn’t end on the cross. Jesus died and was buried, but on the third day He arose! His resurrection is the cornerstone of our faith and the power of His salvation. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:31
It is our objective, as a business and individuals, to represent the Name of Christ well in everything we do. We strive to offer quality products at a fair price while always being truthful and upright in our business dealings. It is our prayer that we would never bring reproach upon His name. Any success that we have as a business, we give credit to God and His blessings upon us, as we try to be obedient to Him.
The question then turns to your name. Is your name written in the Lambs Book of Life; have you accepted the free gift of salvation? Please know that God loves you! “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Here’s why we all need salvation… Sin has separated us from God. Romans 3:23 tells us “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Sin is an offense against God and it carries a serious penalty. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” To accept Jesus’ payment for your sin, simply repent of your sins, call on His name and ask Him to forgive your sins and save you. Romans 10:9-13 says “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
It would be our great honor and privilege to talk with you more about our name, your name, and God’s love and His plan of salvation for all.
