Your Children are in Danger

Just because we live in a digital world with all this super cool technology does not change the word of God which is His standard. And not all these cruddy, new-fangled translations that are good for nothing but to kindle a fire. And if you claim to be a Christian, you are bound to be obedient to the word of God whether you understand it or not and even if you believe in all these ridiculous new translations. Too bold for you? Not as bold as I am about to get.

As a Christian parent, you are under strict instructions to bring your children up properly according to the commandments of God’s Word! It doesn’t matter if the world turns out like some futuristic Star Wars movie set. God’s standards do NOT change; ever. And until your children reach the age of accountability, they are your responsibility. And if they live with you until they are 40, you are still responsible to manage your house in a Godly manner when it pertains to them. To reiterate, IF you claim to be a Christian, God does not accept any excuses about you, as a parent, failing to uphold His standard when it comes to your children.

Smartphones have flooded the world to where over two-thirds of the world’s population has them. That is mind-numbing alone statistically. And we all know how stupid we were as children, especially as teenagers, and I am including myself fully in this. We know, as parents, that even the best children are going to succumb to wicked influences. The devil is going to see to it. So if you are putting these wicked devices into the hands of your impressionable children, God IS going to hold you accountable for it! Seems redundant to me but I’ve shared in numerous installments of Todd’s Techy Tips how the human mind isn’t fully developed until between ages 25 to 30. And just because the whole world is doing it is all the more reason for you NOT to do it. True Christians are supposed to live separate from worldly ways; period. That is one of the strongest parts of our testimony to open the door for us to witness to a lost soul. God never intended for children’s minds to be bombarded by self-indulgent things, overwhelming volumes of useless information, and certainly not by the sinister, wicked things kids can access on smartphones. You can leave the ‘filters’ excuse at the door.

I didn’t allow my son to have a smartphone until he was 18 years old. In fact, it was the subject of a panel in The Adventures of Wesley Doodle about how he was recording some funny event on the 1960s flip phone I gave him LOL. Now he is his own man and what he does, he is accountable to God for that. He still lives with me and I strive to hold him to the standards of God’s Word as I feel led by the Lord to do. And he is a Christian. Please understand that I am in no way trying to tell you how to raise your children or what to do. I am merely relaying, as a vessel, what God laid on my heart to write to you, parents. I believe it was my dad who told me once, “If the whole world goes and jumps off a cliff, are you going to follow them?” So my question to you is, “If the whole world chooses to go to Hell, are you going to jump in the flames with them?” I know that the selection of basic phones is severely limited but they are still readily available and cheaper than any smartphone. So that your children have a form of emergency communication. Especially after they start driving.
