Does the Bible Answer all my Problems?

All my life I have been told the Bible has the answers to all my problems. And during the COVID years, I find myself turning to God’s word for answers. What does the Bible say about vaccines? What does the Bible say about social distancing? I imagine that your home is much like my home and a lot of our conversation is about COVID 19. Answering questions like who is sick, who has been exposed, were they vaccinated, how sick are they, and are they on a ventilator?
It has honestly been a tough couple of years. As I have stated in previous articles, and still believe, Covid is a birth pain Jesus said would come. And Jesus told us not to be alarmed when these things come to pass. Matthew 24:7–8 (KJV 1900) 7” For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
A pestilence is a fatal epidemic disease. The beginning of sorrows is the “birth pains” that will be on earth before that glorious event the rapture of the church and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to earth. The “birth pains” are part of God’s plan and purpose, He is the one setting the stage for end-time events described in Revelation chapter four to nineteen. The “Birth pains” are not the “Great Tribulation”. They are preparatory events to the consummation of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, Jesus told us diseases will come, heartache will come, but do not be discouraged do not lose heart. John 16:33 (KJV 1900) “33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Remember how Jesus taught us to pray “Our Father who is in heaven, your Kingdom come, and Your will be done”? The Father’s will is being accomplished; I may not understand all He is doing but I trust Him. How much time do we spend praying for God’s kingdom to come?
What do the “birth pains” do for the church? Two things, first they make the church stronger in faith. A strong faithful church will be the church that stands true to God’s word during the tribulation. John 17:14–18 (KJV 1900) “14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”
Second, they prepare our hearts to meet Jesus. Luke 21:28 (KJV 1900) “28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
The “birth pains” are crucial, necessary, and God-ordained to prepare the Church and the world for end-time events. We may say, “well I do not like them”, and I agree they are not pleasant. No mother likes contractions before the birth of a child, but they are necessary to receive that little precious baby. I do not like what is going on, but I am trusting the Lord because His plan is part of a greater plan with no pain, no sorrow, and no loss of life. So, Lord help me to be patient as I trust in you.
I try to keep things in a Biblical perspective. And we should as Christians. We should be prepared to give answers to those seeking God during a difficult time of their life. A verse that has helped me deal with some of the anxiety and uncertainty is Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV) “5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
And lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.”
I can trust the Lord. With all my heart is worship. When I worship the Lord, my trust in the Lord increases. Worship draws me near to the Father, and the Father comforts me. My own understanding is marred by sin, social media, and conflicting news reports. I cannot trust sources that have no strength or power. My path is a trustworthy path leading to heaven and it is Christ who has set me on this path, and He will not let me detour from it. I acknowledge the lord in memorizing scripture, praising the Lord, and prayer. This verse has brought me great peace and comfort all my life. The Bible has answered all my problems. Trust in the Lord.
